ABOUT US
Phoenix is one of the biggest cities in the country, ranking number five on the World Population Review website, which means that there are plenty of fun activities for you and your loved ones to enjoy. Whether that’s listening to a great show or stopping to get a great cup of coffee, this website holds some answers for a first time Phoenix visitor. Three different journalists will be reporting on a couple of different places to visit, with a main focus on music, coffee shops, and clothing stores. Thanks to the work done by these journalists, the readers will be able to get a general overview of the venues, a price range to give readers an idea on what kind of money you will be spending, and a rating of how much the writer enjoyed the place. Want to find out more about the writers? Visit the About tab to see some background on them!
Tab 1: Ariauni is going to three different clothing boutiques in the Downtown Phoenix area. The stores include: Bunky Boutique, Now or Never and Phoenix General Boutique. This page goes through some of the shops that Ariauni visited and her opinion about each shop. Each shop is not like the next one, with one being more boho and one being more modern. You can see a range in what each has to offer and the range of price points within the three shops. Get to know some behind the scenes info about the shops and how they got their start. You will get to see the vibes of each store and find out if it is worth going to or not. You’ll be surprised to find out there is an art museum that is attached to two of the shops! Check out the media tab or the instagram page to get a better look at what is being sold at each store.
Tab 2: Aaliyah will be exploring three coffee shops in the Downtown Phoenix area. These shops will include: Press Coffee, Fair Trade Cafe and Fillmore Coffee Co. On this page Aaliyah will be sharing her star rating out of five as a way to describe the tastiness of each location. You will also be able to find a price range to decide what is more budget friendly when planning a trip to any of the mentioned locations. It is our mission to make your trip to the heart of Phoenix a lot easier to plan. You will find the vibe of each shop whether it is intimidating, a study place or one where you can go and converse without any worries of being an interruption. Who wouldn't like a nice refreshing coffee or tea on a hot or even cold Arizona day? For any other options that may have not been included, check out the media tab for reviews from other Arizona residents that have visited a handful of other places and can offer their feedback. Your new favorite place may be waiting for you in Arizona!
Tab 3: One major staple of any city are the multiple genres of music that can be found, both mainstream and local. There are hundreds of places where one can find music but in this section, the main focus will be on four different scenes to find some cheap and easy entertainment. These places include: The Piano Bar, Organ Stop Pizza, The Yucca Tap Room and The Civil Space Park. Although a few of these are on the outskirts of Downtown Phoenix, they have been included as a guide for ASU students who may be on the main campus. Included in there will be Zach’s personal review, the price range and what vibe to expect when you visit. Be sure to note that some prices and places in Phoenix and its surrounding areas vary depending solely on the artist, so places like The Van Buren will tend to get more expensive if the artists performing are people such as Coldplay, or Harry Styles. Visit any location depending on what the budget for your trip may look like. There are plenty of options and the right fit for you can be found.
Make sure to explore each of the tabs to learn a little more about what makes up the Downtown Phoenix area and our purpose. Each of the writer’s tabs will have its own unique take on different businesses and events along with visuals for what to expect if you decide to take a trip to any of the places that are shared. For more information you can follow us on instagram: @welcome2dwtnphx and check out the media tab on this site. This tab will include any pictures and multimedia projects that can help you get a better visual of what the scenes look like. There’s more to Arizona than just the desert, come find out for yourself!
